Born in the race of Janaka and daughter-in-law of Dasaratha, Sita, beloved spouse of Rama is like his vital breath always desired the wellbeing of Rama she followed him like Rohini, the Moon. Endowed with all virtues she is the foremost woman.
The verse highlights steadfast marital dharma expressed as loyal companionship and active concern for a spouse’s welfare—Sītā’s commitment to accompany Rāma and support his righteous path.
In Nārada’s synopsis to Vālmīki, Sītā is introduced and praised: her noble birth, auspicious qualities, and her decision to follow Rāma closely, like Rohiṇī with the Moon.
Sītā’s fidelity, selfless devotion, and constancy—presented as an ideal of companionship grounded in dharma and affectionate duty.
