Dyumatsena’s Restoration and Sāvitrī’s Disclosure of Yama’s Boons
tato me triguṇā yakṣā ye madbāghanakāriṇaḥ | kecid eva dhanādhyakṣaṁ bhrātaraṁ me samāśritāḥ |
The verse highlights ordered responsibility: beings are situated within hierarchies of duty, where service and obedience to rightful authority sustain cosmic and social order; even powerful attendants (Yakṣas) are distributed according to allegiance and function.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes the relative numbers and affiliations of Yakṣas: most serve under his command, while a smaller portion serve his brother Kubera, identified as the lord/overseer of wealth.
