लोके क्षीणे क्षयं यान्ति भावा लोकप्रवर्तका: । युगक्षयकृता धर्माः प्रार्थनानि विकुर्वते,लोकके क्षीण होनेपर उसके प्रवर्तक भावोंका भी क्षय हो जाता है। युग-क्षयजनित धर्म मनुष्यकी अभीष्ट कामनाओंके विपरीत फल देते हैं
loke kṣīṇe kṣayaṁ yānti bhāvā lokapravartakāḥ | yugakṣayakṛtā dharmāḥ prārthanāni vikurvate ||
Когда мир приходит в упадок, увядают и те побуждения и склонности, что приводят общество в движение. А когда эпоха подходит к концу, формы дхармы, порождённые этим разложением, искажают человеческие стремления — даруя плоды, противоположные желаемому.
