कालनिर्णयः, युगधर्मवर्णनम्, सृष्टिक्रमश्च
Time-Reckoning, Yuga-Dharma, and the Sequence of Creation
देवराज! समस्त प्राणियोंकी गति जो काल है
ṛtūn māsārdhamāsāṁś ca divasāṁś ca kṣaṇāṁs tathā | pūrvāhṇam aparāhṇaṁ ca madhyāhnam api cāpare ||
Шакра сказал: «О царь богов! Время — это путь всех существ; не достигнув Времени, куда ты уйдёшь? Человек не может оставить его позади даже бегством — не может отдалиться; и, стоя неподвижно, не вырвется из его когтей. Слух и прочие чувства не в силах пережить то Время, что различается месяцами, половинами месяца и пятью видами делений. Одни называют это божество Времени Агни, другие — Праджапати. Время измеряет и несёт всех вперёд — через времена года, месяцы и полумесяцы, дни и даже мимолётные мгновения; через утро, послеобеденное время и полдень.»
