मृत्यु-काल-प्रबोधनम् (Instruction on Mortality, Time, and Truth) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 169

चक्राड्रभारस्कन्धं तं धनुष्पाणिं धृतायुधम्‌ । रुधिरेणावसिक्ताड़ुं गृहद्वारमुपागतम्‌

cakrādrabhāraskandhaṁ taṁ dhanuṣpāṇiṁ dhṛtāyudham | rudhireṇāvasiktāṅgaṁ gṛhadvāram upāgatam ||

Бхишма сказал: «Он подошёл к самой двери дома — плечо его было отягощено, словно колесом и горой; в руке — лук, оружие крепко сжато; члены тела залиты кровью. В таком виде он казался людоедом-ракшасой и тем, кто отпал от достоинства и поведения брахмана. Увидев его у порога в этом состоянии, брахман узнал его; и, узнав, был охвачен стыдом и обратился к нему так.»
