परिपेतुर्हयाश्चात्र केचिच्छस्त्रकृतव्रणा: । रथान् विपरिकर्षन्तो हतेषु रथयोथधिषु
paripetur hayāś cātra kecic chastrakṛtavraṇāḥ | rathān viparikṛṣanto hateṣu rathayodhiṣu ||
Санджая сказал: Там и здесь на том поле брани некоторые кони, израненные ударами оружия, мчались в безумии. Даже когда их колесничие-воины были уже убиты, они всё ещё волокли колесницы, спасаясь бегством, пока не падали без сил, — так явственно открывалась беспощадная инерция войны, что гонит и невинных зверей за пределы выносливости.
