Adhyāya 104 — Śikhaṇḍin-puraskāraḥ (Śikhaṇḍin as Vanguard) and Bhīṣma’s Counter-Advance
अर्जुनश्व यथा संख्ये भीमसेनश्व पाण्डव: । नकुल: सहदेवश्न रणे चक्कु: पराक्रमम्
arjunaś ca yathā saṅkhye bhīmasenaś ca pāṇḍavaḥ | nakulaḥ sahadevaś ca raṇe cakruḥ parākramam ||
Санджая сказал: «Я расскажу по порядку, как Арджуна и Бхимасена из Пандавов, а также Накула и Сахадева, явили свою доблесть в бою».
संजय उवाच
The verse foregrounds kṣatriya-dharma in its narrative form: true worth in war is measured as disciplined valor (parākrama) performed in the proper order and context, and the listener is invited to judge actions through the lens of duty and courage rather than mere outcome.
Sañjaya, reporting to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, announces that he will describe how the Pāṇḍava heroes—Arjuna, Bhīma, Nakula, and Sahadeva—exhibited their martial prowess on the battlefield.
