तेन मुक्ता रणे राजज्शरा: शत्रुनिबर्हणा: । क्षत्रियाननयञ्शूरान् प्रेतताजनिवेशनम्,राजन! रणक्षेत्रमें अभिमन्युके छोड़े हुए शत्रुनाशक बाणोंने बहुत-से शूरवीर क्षत्रियोंको यमराजके लोकमें पहुँचा दिया
tena muktā raṇe rājañ śarāḥ śatrunibarhaṇāḥ | kṣatriyān anayac chūrān pretarājaniveśanam, rājan |
Санджая сказал: О царь, в битве выпущенные стрелы, губящие врагов, отправили многих доблестных кшатрийских воинов в обитель владыки Ямы — то есть они были сражены и ушли в царство смерти.
संजय उवाच
Even when war is framed as duty (kṣatriya-dharma), its immediate fruit is death and suffering; the verse highlights the grave ethical cost of martial action and the inevitability of mortality in battle.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the arrows discharged in the fight—understood in context as those shot by Abhimanyu on the battlefield—killed many heroic Kṣatriyas, sending them to Yama’s realm.
