Chapter 84: Brahmā’s Counsel on Tāraka, the Search for Agni, and the Genesis of Skanda

अग्निमध्ये गवां मध्ये ब्राह्मणानां च संसदि | विद्यावेदव्रतस्नाता ब्राह्मुणा: पुण्यकर्मिण:
vyāsa uvāca | agnimadhye gavāṁ madhye brāhmaṇānāṁ ca saṁsadi | vidyāvedavratasnātā brāhmaṇāḥ puṇyakarmiṇaḥ |
Среди священных огней, среди коров и в собрании брахманов брахманы, очищенные знанием, ведическим учением и дисциплиной обетов,—люди благочестивых деяний,—должны совершать наставление и передавать священное знание.
व्यास उवाच
That sacred knowledge should be transmitted by disciplined, meritorious Brāhmaṇas in sanctified contexts—near the sacred fire, among cows, and within the learned assembly—so that teaching remains aligned with dharma, purity, and communal accountability.
Vyāsa lays down a normative instruction about where and by whom teaching should be conducted: qualified Brāhmaṇas, trained through learning, Vedic study, and vows, are to teach in ritually and ethically charged settings that reinforce the sanctity of the act.
