गन्धर्वा: पादपाश्रैव सर्वमन्तरधीयत । नि:शब्दम भवच्चापि गंगाकूलं॑ पुनर्न॒ूप

Transliteration

gandharvāḥ pādapāś caiva sarvam antaradhīyata | niḥśabdaṁ abhavac cāpi gaṅgākūlaṁ punar nṛpa ||

Translation

Бхишма сказал: «Гандхарвы — и даже деревья — в одно мгновение исчезли из виду. И, о царь, берег Ганги вновь стал совершенно безмолвным». (Так брахмариши Чьявана силой йоги поверг царя Кушику в наваждение; в один миг лесная картина — апсары, гандхарвы и деревья — растворилась, оставив речной берег в тишине.)
