Nahuṣa–Cyavana Episode
यद्च्छयोपसम्पन्नैर्यज्ञसा धुबहिष्कृतै: । बाह्या बाह्ौौश्व जायन्ते यथावृत्ति यथाश्रयम्
yadṛcchayopasampannair yajñasādhubahiṣkṛtaiḥ | bāhyā bāhyauś ca jāyante yathāvṛtti yathāśrayam ||
Бхишма сказал: «От тех, кто по одной прихоти, не считаясь ни с рождением, ни с приличием, сходится с женщинами иной варны, и кто отлучён от жертвоприношений и изгнан из общения с добродетельными, — от таких людей вне закона рождаются лишь чужаки и отверженные группы. Их смешанное потомство затем берётся за разные промыслы и ищет покровительства там, где ему по нраву, поступая по своим привычкам и обстоятельствам, а не по установленной дхарме.»
