अनुकूलामनुवंशां क्रात्रा दत्तामुपाग्निकाम्‌ । परिक्रम्य यथान्यायं भार्या विन्देद्‌ द्विजोत्तम:

Transliteration

anukūlām anuvaṁśāṁ ca bhrātrā dattām upāgnikām | parikramya yathānyāyaṁ bhāryāṁ vinded dvijottamaḥ ||

Translation

Бхишма сказал: лучший из двиджа должен принять в жёны женщину благонравную, соответствующую его роду, должным образом отданную её братом и сидящую близ разожжённого священного огня; обойдя огонь по установленному обряду, пусть возьмёт её согласно предписанию шастр.
