प्रजा न हीयते तस्या रतिश्ष भरतर्षभ । अतोडन््यथा वर्तमाना भवेद् वाच्या प्रजापते:
prajā na hīyate tasyā ratiś ca bharatarṣabha | ato 'nyathā vartamānā bhaved vācyā prajāpateḥ ||
Бхишма сказал: «О бык среди Бхаратов, в таком случае потомство той женщины не считается умалённым в достоинстве, и её союз (с тем мужчиной) не признаётся предосудительным. Но женщина, поступающая вопреки этому должному пути, становится порицаемой в глазах Праджапати (Владыки существ), ибо она отступает от предписанного правила поведения».
