yaṃ kālaṃ nāgato rājan gurus tasya mahātmanaḥ | kratuṃ samāpya svagṛhaṃ taṃ kālaṃ so ’bhyarakṣata ||
Dharma is shown as steadfast duty and self-restraint: a disciple must protect the guru’s household—especially the guru’s wife—without wavering, even in the guru’s absence, treating that trust as sacred.
While Vipula’s guru is away completing a sacrificial rite and has not yet returned home, Vipula stays there and continues guarding the guru’s wife for the entire duration, maintaining vigilant protection until the guru’s return.
