आहृय दयितं शिष्यं विपुलं प्राह भार्गवम्‌ । फिर उन महा तपस्वीने मन-ही-मन उसकी रक्षाका उपाय सोचकर अपने प्रिय शिष्य भगुवंशी विपुलको बुलाकर कहा--

Transliteration

āhṛya dayitaṃ śiṣyaṃ vipulaṃ prāha bhārgavam |

Translation

Бхишма сказал: призвав любимого ученика Випулу, Бхаргава обратился к нему. Великий подвижник, втайне обдумав, как уберечь то, что поставлено на карту, позвал дорогого ученика и заговорил — приводя в действие осторожную, дхармой направляемую защиту, а не поспешный порыв.
