Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
apahatya tamas tīvraṃ yathā bhāty udaye raviḥ | tathā apahatya pāpmānaṃ bhāti gaḍājalokṣitaḥ ||
The verse teaches that moral impurity (pāpmāna) can be removed through purificatory practice associated with a sacred water (Gaḍā-jala), resulting in renewed radiance and auspiciousness—symbolized by the sun dispelling darkness.
A Siddha is praising the efficacy of bathing in Gaḍā’s sacred water, using a vivid comparison: as sunrise breaks dense darkness, so the bather’s sins are destroyed and he becomes spiritually bright.
