kīrtiṃ cānuttamāṃ loke samavāpsyasi śobhane | na tvāṃ jarā vā rogo vā vaivarṇyaṃ cāpi bhāvini ||
The verse presents a divine benediction: true excellence is marked by enduring kīrti (renown grounded in virtue) and by protection from the usual signs of human decline—old age, illness, and loss of radiance—signifying the fruit of extraordinary merit and divine favor.
Vāyu (the Wind-god) addresses a woman respectfully as “śobhane/bhāvini,” granting her a promise of unmatched fame and freedom from bodily deterioration, functioning as a prophetic assurance within the Anuśāsana Parva’s didactic and blessing-oriented discourse.
