प्रजा विवर्धते चास्य अक्षयं चोपतिष्ठति । यही श्राद्धकी विधि बतायी गयी है

Transliteration

prajā vivardhate cāsya akṣayaṃ copatiṣṭhati |

Translation

Бхишма сказал: Следуя предписанному обряду шраддхи (śrāddha), человек умножает свой род, и неиссякаемое благополучие пребывает при нём. Такое соблюдение не допускает упадка дхармы; оно делает питров — предков — всегда довольными и умиротворёнными и обеспечивает рост потомства без убыли.
