गजानश्चान्‌ रथांश्वैव वासांस्यथाभरणानि च । मणिमुक्ताप्रवालं च गाड़ेयो व्यसृजच्छूभम्‌,यह कहकर महातेजस्वी भीष्मजीने राजा शल्यको सोना और उसके बने हुए आभूषण तथा सहस्ौ्रों विचित्र प्रकारके रत्न भेंट किये। बहुत-से हाथी, घोड़े, रथ, वस्त्र, अलंकार तथा मणि-मोती और मूँगे भी दिये

gajān aśvān rathāṁś caiva vāsāṁsy athābharaṇāni ca | maṇi-muktā-pravālaṁ ca gāḍheyo vyasṛjac chubham ||

Вайшампаяна сказал: Затем он щедро одарил великолепными дарами — слонами, конями и колесницами; одеждами и украшениями; а также самоцветами, жемчугом и кораллом, — почтив получателя роскошной щедростью по царскому обычаю и в согласии с дхармой.
