Совершая праджапатью-криччхру — искупительное предписание Праджапати, — человек затем освобождается от греха, да и от всяких проступков, возникших через речь, ум или тело.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames purification (prāyaścitta) as a prerequisite for Śiva-upāsanā: cleansing faults of speech, mind, and body so the Pashu becomes fit for Pati-bhakti and Linga-pūjā.
Implicitly, Śiva as Pati is the liberating principle: when the Pashu removes pāśas (karmic impurities) through disciplined expiation, the soul becomes capable of receiving Śiva’s grace that culminates in release from sin.
The Prājāpatya Kṛcchra—an expiatory vrata/austerity—paired with ethical restraint over vāk (speech), manaḥ (mind), and kāya (body), aligning with the purificatory foundation of Pāśupata-oriented discipline.
