prāpnuyāt paramaṃ svargaṃ narakaṃ ca viparyayāt puraikā muniśārdūlāḥ sarvadharmān sadā patim
Suta Goswami (addressing the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames Shiva as Pati—the grounding principle of dharma—so Linga-worship is not merely ritual but must be supported by right conduct that leads the pashu (soul) toward auspicious fruits.
Shiva is indicated as Pati, the sovereign Lord and inner support of all dharmas—implying the supreme regulator of karma-phala and the refuge beyond bondage (pāśa).
Ethical discipline (dharma) as a prerequisite limb of Shaiva sādhana: aligning action and intention with Pati is presented as the practical means that yields svarga, while its reversal results in naraka.
