ततस्तस्य वसिष्ठस्य नियोगाच्छक्तिनन्दनः राक्षसानामभावाय मतिं चक्रे महामतिः
tatastasya vasiṣṭhasya niyogācchaktinandanaḥ rākṣasānāmabhāvāya matiṃ cakre mahāmatiḥ

It frames the removal of rākṣasic obstruction as a dharmic, guru-directed resolve—an atmosphere in which Śiva’s Linga is approached as the protective Pati who neutralizes tamasic forces that hinder worship and inner discipline.
Though Śiva is not named directly, the verse points to Shiva-tattva indirectly: the cessation of destructive forces aligns with Śiva as Pati, the sovereign power that dissolves negativity and restores cosmic and ritual order.
The verse highlights niyoga (authoritative injunction) and sankalpa (firm resolve). In a Shaiva reading, this supports Pāśupata discipline: purifying conduct and protective rites to weaken pasha-like disturbances symbolized by rākṣasas.
