pakṣajāḥ kalpajāḥ sarve parvatānāṃ mahattamāḥ kalpānte te ca varṣanti rātrau nāśāya śāradāḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
It frames worship as aligning the pashu (soul) with Pati (Śiva), the Lord of time: the same power that sustains nature also dissolves it. Linga-pūjā trains detachment from transient order and devotion to the timeless Shiva-tattva.
Śiva-tattva is implied as Kāla and the regulator of pralaya: when Śiva wills withdrawal, seasonal forces themselves become agents of dissolution, showing His sovereignty beyond prakṛti’s cycles.
A direct ritual is not specified; the yogic takeaway is vairāgya and Pāśupata-bhāva—contemplating impermanence (pralaya) to loosen pāśa (bondage) and fix awareness on Pati through japa, dhyāna, and steady Linga-upāsanā.
