Dakṣa’s Daughters, Cosmic Lineages, and the Population of the Three Worlds
kṛśāśvo ’rciṣi bhāryāyāṁ dhūmaketum ajījanat dhiṣaṇāyāṁ vedaśiro devalaṁ vayunaṁ manum
In 6.6.20, Śukadeva states that Kṛśāśva fathered Dhūmaketu through Arciṣ, and Vedaśirā, Devala, Vayuna, and Manu through Dhiṣaṇā.
He is describing the unfolding of creation through lineages—how progeny expand the cosmic administration and social order under dharma.
They cultivate a sense of sacred history and continuity, reminding readers that life and society are meant to be aligned with dharma and ultimately directed toward devotion to Bhagavān.
