Puṁsavana / Viṣṇu-vrata: Worship of Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇa for Auspicious Progeny and Fortune
śvo-bhūte ’pa upaspṛśya kṛṣṇam abhyarcya pūrvavat payaḥ-śṛtena juhuyāc caruṇā saha sarpiṣā pāka-yajña-vidhānena dvādaśaivāhutīḥ patiḥ
This verse describes a regulated daily practice: purification with water, worship of Kṛṣṇa, and offering twelve oblations of milk-cooked caru with ghee according to pāka-yajña rules—showing that devotion can be expressed through disciplined, scriptural worship.
Śukadeva presents a specific vrata-vidhi (vow procedure) where the number of oblations is fixed as part of the authorized method, emphasizing precision and faithfulness to the prescribed devotional rite.
By keeping regular purity and consistency in worship—beginning the day with cleanliness, offering one’s food and actions to Kṛṣṇa, and following a steady devotional routine even if the external ritual is simplified.
