Parīkṣit’s Inquiry into Vṛtrāsura’s Bhakti and the Beginning of Citraketu’s Trial
śrī-śuka uvāca ity arthitaḥ sa bhagavān kṛpālur brahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ śrapayitvā caruṁ tvāṣṭraṁ tvaṣṭāram ayajad vibhuḥ
This verse shows a dharmic yajña being performed with the proper oblation (caru) to propitiate the intended deity (Tvaṣṭā), indicating that ritual acts are carried out with specific intent and procedure.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is speaking. In the narrative he describes how, after being requested, the son of Brahmā arranges a sacrifice and offers the cooked caru specifically for Tvaṣṭā, following the purpose of that rite.
