Parīkṣit’s Comprehensive Inquiries and the Bhāgavata as Śabda-avatāra
स चापि यत्र पुरुषो विश्वस्थित्युद्भवाप्यय: । मुक्त्वात्ममायां मायेश: शेते सर्वगुहाशय: ॥ १० ॥
sa cāpi yatra puruṣo viśva-sthity-udbhavāpyayaḥ muktvātma-māyāṁ māyeśaḥ śete sarva-guhāśayaḥ
Объясни также Личность Бога, причину поддержания, проявления и разрушения вселенной; Он — Владыка всех энергий, но не затронут Своей внешней майей и пребывает в пещере сердца каждого как Параматма, Сверхдуша.
Undoubtedly the form of the Lord who was seen by Brahmā must be transcendental; otherwise how could He simply look upon the creative energy without being touched? It is understood also that the same puruṣa lies in the heart of every living entity. This also requires proper explanation.
This verse identifies the Supreme Person as the source behind the universe’s maintenance (sthiti), creation (udbhava), and dissolution (apyaya), showing that cosmic change rests on His supreme control.
To emphasize that māyā is the Lord’s controlled potency—He employs it for cosmic manifestation and can also withdraw it, remaining ever transcendental as the master of māyā.
By practicing inner remembrance—pausing for prayer, japa, and mindful self-examination—one learns to act with accountability and devotion, seeing the Paramātmā as the witness and guide within.
