Raivata and Cākṣuṣa Manvantaras; Brahmā’s Prayers at Śvetadvīpa
Prelude to Samudra-manthana
prāṇād abhūd yasya carācarāṇāṁ prāṇaḥ saho balam ojaś ca vāyuḥ anvāsma samrājam ivānugā vayaṁ prasīdatāṁ naḥ sa mahā-vibhūtiḥ
This verse states that prana, along with endurance, strength, vigor, and even the vital air (vayu), ultimately arises from the Supreme Lord, who is the life of all beings.
Facing danger and seeking protection, the demigods approached Vishnu, acknowledging Him as the ultimate support of their power and life, and begged for His mercy and favor.
Remembering that vitality and capacity come from the Divine encourages humility, steadiness under stress, and prayerful reliance rather than pride in one’s own power.
