It conveys a yoga-doctrinal principle: even if one’s yoga practice is interrupted (yogabhraṣṭa), the accumulated merit and refinement of consciousness yield a favorable rebirth—specifically among the pure and prosperous—supporting renewed spiritual practice.
Alongside rituals, governance, medicine, and arts, the Agni Purana also preserves systematic yoga and karmic theory. This verse functions as a compact teaching on rebirth mechanics and the continuity of spiritual effort across lifetimes—an essential strand of its encyclopedic dharma-yoga coverage.
It reassures that sincere yoga is never wasted: equanimity and yogic discipline leave lasting saṃskāras that mature into a supportive birth environment, enabling the practitioner to resume the path toward liberation.
