FAQs

The verse affirms the restorative role of community and kinship structures (pitṛkula) after crisis, and highlights vāṇī (speech) as a compassionate instrument—words can ‘cool’ suffering like water.

Vamśānucarita / narrative episode: it advances the plot through the actions of celestial beings and the re-establishment of social stability.

Apsarases—often linked with allure—here function inversely as protectors and comforters, suggesting that the same realm of desire can be transmuted into care; ‘vacanāmbu’ frames compassionate speech as a purifying, life-sustaining element.
