Paingala Upanishad 11: Verse 11

अण्डस्थानि तानि तेन विना स्पन्दितुं चेष्टितुं वा न शेकुः। तानि चेतनीकर्तुं सोऽकामयत। ब्रह्माण्डब्रह्मरन्ध्राणि समस्तव्यष्टिमस्तकान् विदार्य तदेवानुप्राविशत्। तदा जडान्यपि तानि चेतनवत् स्वकर्माणि चक्रिरे॥११॥

aṇḍasthāni tāni tena vinā spandituṃ ceṣṭituṃ vā na śekuḥ | tāni cetanīkartuṃ so'kāmayat | brahmāṇḍabrahmarandhrāṇi samastavyaṣṭimastakān vidāry tadevānuprāviśat | tadā jaḍāny api tāni cetanavat svakarmāṇi cakrire ||11||

Translation

Estando no interior do ovo, elas não podiam, sem Ele, pulsar nem agir. Desejando torná-las conscientes, Ele—tendo aberto os brahmarandhras do ovo cósmico e de todas as cabeças individuais—entrou nelas, de fato. Então, embora inertes, realizaram suas próprias funções como se fossem conscientes.

Academic Translation

Situated within the egg, they were unable, without him, to throb or to act. Wishing to make them conscious, he—having split open the brahmarandhras of the cosmic egg and of all the individual heads—entered into them indeed. Then, though inert, they performed their own functions as if conscious.
