कथमस्य मया कार्यो निग्रहो देवताकृते । पुनश्चिंतयते यावत्सा देवी दानवं प्रति । तावत्तत्रागतः शीघ्रं स कामेन परिप्लुतः
kathamasya mayā kāryo nigraho devatākṛte | punaściṃtayate yāvatsā devī dānavaṃ prati | tāvattatrāgataḥ śīghraṃ sa kāmena pariplutaḥ
«Como poderei refreá-lo e subjugá-lo em favor dos deuses?» Enquanto a Deusa assim ponderava acerca do dānava, ele ali chegou depressa, inundado e impelido pelo desejo.
Pulastya (narration)
Tirtha: Arbuda
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahi-pati (king) in the narrative frame
Scene: Devī wonders how to subdue the daitya for the gods’ sake; as she thinks, the desire-intoxicated dānava arrives swiftly—contrast between her composed deliberation and his impetuous approach.
Protection of dharma includes protecting the devas (cosmic order), and lust is shown as a force that makes the wicked rush toward ruin.
The Arbuda region, where Śrīmātā confronts the dānava, forms the sacred backdrop.
No ritual instruction is present; it is a narrative transition into the confrontation.
