सौदास उवाच । यैर्विना सुगतिर्नास्ति दुर्गतिं ये नयंति वै । गत्वैवं ब्रूहि तां साध्वीं मम वाक्यं द्विजोत्तम । प्रदास्यति ततो नूनं कुण्डले रत्नमंडिते
saudāsa uvāca | yairvinā sugatirnāsti durgatiṃ ye nayaṃti vai | gatvaivaṃ brūhi tāṃ sādhvīṃ mama vākyaṃ dvijottama | pradāsyati tato nūnaṃ kuṇḍale ratnamaṃḍite
Saudāsa disse: “Aquilo sem o qual não há su-gati (bom destino) e que, de fato, conduz à dur-gati (mau destino): vai e dize a essa senhora virtuosa estas minhas palavras, ó melhor dos brāhmaṇas. Então, sem dúvida, ela te dará os brincos ornados de joias.”
