चिराय यत्कृतं सौम्य चिरमस्मिन् दुःखितः । गाथाश्चाप्यब्रवीद्विद्वान्गौतमो मुनिसत्तमः
cirāya yatkṛtaṃ saumya ciramasmin duḥkhitaḥ | gāthāścāpyabravīdvidvāngautamo munisattamaḥ
“Ó querido, porque o que foi feito se demorou, por muito tempo permaneci entristecido.” Assim, o sábio Gautama, o melhor entre os munis, também proferiu versos (gāthās).
