Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 35
स्नेहात्करणरागश्च प्रजज्ञे वैषयस्तथा । अश्रेयस्कावुभावतौ पूर्वस्तत्र गुरुः स्मृतः
snehātkaraṇarāgaśca prajajñe vaiṣayastathā | aśreyaskāvubhāvatau pūrvastatra guruḥ smṛtaḥ
Do apego nasce a coloração dos sentidos e também o desejo pelos objetos. Ambos são causas do que é nocivo; e, nisso, o primeiro (o apego) é lembrado como o principal instigador.
