उपर्युपरि देवानामन्योन्यातिशये स्थितम् । नरैः पुण्यफलं स्वर्गे मूलच्छेदेन भुज्यते

Transliteration

uparyupari devānāmanyonyātiśaye sthitam | naraiḥ puṇyaphalaṃ svarge mūlacchedena bhujyate

Translation

Cada vez mais alto entre os deuses, cada um se encontra superando o outro. No céu, os homens desfrutam o fruto do mérito, mas o desfrutam cortando a raiz, isto é, consumindo o mérito acumulado.
