kleśena kṛtvā kūpaṃ vā sa ca kṣārodako vṛthā | bahukleśairjanma nītaṃ vinā dharmaṃ tathā vṛthā
«Ou ainda: cavando um poço com grande esforço, se a água se torna salobra, esse esforço é desperdiçado. Do mesmo modo, uma vida levada entre muitas dificuldades é desperdiçada se for vivida sem dharma.»
