संसदि व्रीडयाऽश्रुत्य आर्थिभ्यः प्रददाति च । प्रतिदीयते च यद्दानं व्रीडादानमिति श्रुतम्

Transliteration

saṃsadi vrīḍayā'śrutya ārthibhyaḥ pradadāti ca | pratidīyate ca yaddānaṃ vrīḍādānamiti śrutam

Translation

A dádiva que se oferece aos suplicantes numa assembleia por vergonha (temendo ser mal falado) e que é retribuída de volta, é conhecida como ‘vrīḍā-dāna’ (doação por vergonha).
