इत्युक्ता पार्वती प्राह नाहं दत्तं च दक्षिणम् । ददामि कस्यचिद्विप्र देवदेवाय कल्पितम्
ityuktā pārvatī prāha nāhaṃ dattaṃ ca dakṣiṇam | dadāmi kasyacidvipra devadevāya kalpitam
Assim interpelada, Pārvatī disse: “Ainda não entreguei minha dakṣiṇā (oferta). Ó brāhmaṇa, só a dou a alguém quando ela está destinada ao Deva dos devas, o Deus dos deuses (Śiva).”
