अगस्तिरुवाच । मथुरायां द्विजः कश्चिदभूद्भूदेवसत्तमः । तस्य पुत्रो महातेजाः शिवशर्मेति विश्रुतः
agastiruvāca | mathurāyāṃ dvijaḥ kaścidabhūdbhūdevasattamaḥ | tasya putro mahātejāḥ śivaśarmeti viśrutaḥ
Disse Agastya: Em Mathurā vivia certo duas-vezes-nascido, o mais excelente dos ‘deuses na terra’, um venerável brāhmaṇa. Seu filho, de grande esplendor, era conhecido pelo nome de Śivaśarmā.
