भर्ज्यते कर्मबीजानि यत्र विश्वेशवह्निना । अतो महाश्मशानं तदगतीनां परा गतिः
bharjyate karmabījāni yatra viśveśavahninā | ato mahāśmaśānaṃ tadagatīnāṃ parā gatiḥ
Ali, pelo fogo de Viśveśa, as próprias sementes do karma são tostadas até se extinguirem; por isso aquele lugar é chamado o Grande Campo de Cremação (Mahāśmaśāna), o refúgio supremo dos que não têm outro amparo.
