Listener: assembly (including the prince)
Scene: A mapless ‘wherever they dwell’ montage: brāhmaṇas of the Mādhyandina śākhā reciting at noon; others of Kauthumī singing Sāman; all shown as virtuous householders/ascetics.
Even amid changing ages, the continuity of Vedic learning persists through śākhā traditions and virtuous conduct.
The discourse is embedded in Dharmāraṇya’s sacred setting, though this verse highlights Vedic śākhās rather than a tīrtha.
No explicit rite is prescribed; it identifies Vedic branches relevant for recitation and ritual affiliation.
