शासनं चेन्न दृष्टं वो नैव तत्पालयाम्यहम् । द्विजाः कोपसमाविष्टा ददुः प्रत्युत्तरं तदा
śāsanaṃ cenna dṛṣṭaṃ vo naiva tatpālayāmyaham | dvijāḥ kopasamāviṣṭā daduḥ pratyuttaraṃ tadā
«Se não vistes o mandamento (a autoridade), eu não o cumprirei.» Então os duas-vezes-nascidos, tomados de ira, deram a sua resposta.
