Transliteration

na dadāti kadā dānamevaṃ kālaḥ pravartate | labdhaśāsanakā viprā luptasvāmyā aharniśam

Translation

Ninguém jamais dá esmola; assim correm os tempos. Os brâmanes, embora possuíssem saber e disciplina, viviam dia e noite sem patronos nem proteção.
