Mahiṣāsura’s Conquest of Svarga and the Devas’ Appeal to Śiva and Viṣṇu

Pelo seu bramido terrível, toda a vastidão do céu se encheu; ergueu-se um grande eco, e os três mundos estremeceram.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: destructive
Cosmic Event: lokatraya-kṣobha (three-worlds trembling)
It portrays the irresistible potency of divine Śakti: when the sacred power manifests, even the three worlds tremble—signifying that ego and worldly stability are shaken so the soul may turn toward Pati (Śiva) and liberation.
The verse evokes awe (bhaya-bhakti) that supports Saguna worship: the devotee recognizes the Lord’s manifest power operating through Śakti, leading the mind to steadiness and surrender before the Linga—the accessible form of Śiva for worship.
Cultivate reverent stillness and japa: repeat the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to stabilize the mind amid inner ‘tremblings,’ and meditate on Śiva as the calm Pati beyond all echoes and agitation.
