Suta Goswami (traditional Purāṇic frame narrator concluding the chapter to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pasha
This is a chapter-colophon that seals the teaching: Śiva’s māyā has real power to veil the soul’s insight, and liberation comes by recognizing Śiva (Pati) as the Lord who transcends and governs māyā.
By naming the topic as Śiva-māyā’s power, it implies the practical remedy taught throughout the Purāṇa: approach Śiva through saguna worship—especially the Liṅga—so devotion and grace dissolve māyic confusion and reveal the transcendent (nirguṇa) truth.
Contemplate Śiva as the master of māyā while doing japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady Liṅga-dhyāna; this aligns the mind away from māyā toward Śiva’s liberating presence.
