Kṛṣṇādi-Śivabhaktoddhāraṇa & Śiva-māhātmya-varṇana
Deliverance of Krishna and other devotees; Description of Shiva’s Greatness
Krishna
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra:
Type: stotra
The verse shows śaraṇāgati (humble surrender) to Pati, Lord Śiva, acknowledging that the highest attainments and protections come by His grace, not merely by personal effort.
By addressing Śiva as Devadeva and Maheśvara, Kṛṣṇa approaches the manifest, gracious Lord (saguṇa aspect) who bestows boons and guidance—an attitude central to Liṅga-centered worship and devotional supplication in the Purāṇa.
The implied practice is devotional prayer and formal petition before Śiva—supported by japa of Śiva-mantras (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined worship done with humility.
