Strī-svabhāva-kathanam: Nārada–Pañcacūḍā-saṃvāda
Discourse on Dispassion via the Nārada–Pañcacūḍā Dialogue
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It signals a didactic turn in the narrative: a speaker prepares to describe recurring behavioral faults so the seeker may cultivate viveka (discernment) and refine conduct as part of the Shaiva path toward purification and grace.
While not directly about the Linga, it supports Saguna Shiva worship by emphasizing ethical restraint and inner purification—qualities traditionally taught as supports for mantra-japa, vrata, and temple worship that mature devotion into steadiness.
The verse implies self-examination and discipline; a practical takeaway is daily mantra-japa (e.g., Panchakshara) with conscious avoidance of recognized faults, using worship as a means to transform tendencies rather than merely perform outer ritual.
