Lord Shiva (instructing within the Umāsaṃhitā narrative)
Tattva Level: pati
Cosmic Event: Vaivasvata-kalpa (present manvantara/aeon) referenced as the temporal frame of experience
The verse uses “amṛta-natured milk” as a symbol of life-sustaining, grace-filled nourishment that is nevertheless governed by cosmic order; Shiva, as Pati (the Lord), reveals that beings move through time-cycles (kalpas) under His higher regulation.
In Shaiva understanding, Saguna Shiva guides devotees through worldly cycles and reveals the structure of time itself; such teachings support Linga-worship as devotion to the Lord who both sustains the universe and grants liberation beyond kalpas.
Meditate on Shiva as the regulator of prāṇa and time (kāla-niyantā), pairing steady breath-restraint with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to cultivate detachment from cyclic time and reliance on His grace.
