हिरण्यनेत्रस्य तपः — Hiraṇyanetra’s Austerity and the Boon
शिव उवाच । यद्यस्मि रुद्रस्तव किं मया स्यात्किमर्थमेवं वदसीति मिथ्या । शृणु प्रभावं मम दैत्यनाथ न्याय्यं न वक्तुं वचनं त्वयैवम्
śiva uvāca | yadyasmi rudrastava kiṃ mayā syātkimarthamevaṃ vadasīti mithyā | śṛṇu prabhāvaṃ mama daityanātha nyāyyaṃ na vaktuṃ vacanaṃ tvayaivam
Shiva disse: “Se eu sou de facto o teu Rudra, então que necessidade há de eu fazer alguma coisa? Por que falas desta maneira — falsamente? Ó senhor dos Daityas, ouve a minha majestade. Não é apropriado que profiras tais palavras como estas”.
